Willow Point Supportive Living Society is a Campbell River charitable organization with a single purpose as stated in our Mission. The Society was established in 1993 in response to the growing need for affordable and safe housing for seniors. To fulfill its mission the Society acquired land and constructed buildings on Larwood Road. Our rental housing complex consists of forty apartment units plus eight detached patio homes located in an attractive setting with lawns and gardens. All housing is self-contained with kitchens and full bathrooms. The main floor common room and grounds are available for the residents to enjoy the recreational and social activities available in this supportive community life setting.

The WPSLS complex is a short sidewalk distance to Willow Point Village where there is a selection of shops, cafes and a large grocery store. The village also includes health service providers and a pharmacy. It is conveniently located on public transit and handi-Dart bus routes. These accessible features facilitate the goal of independent living.

The Society is under the governance of an elected board of directors who oversee the facilities and services provided to the residents by the on-site manager and his staff. The WPSLS provides efficient and prudent management of the Society assets to ensure they are used in a manner that best supports our mission and purposes.

WPSLS is fully self-supporting, without provincial or federal government funding subsidies. The operating budget expenses (including properties, buildings and staff) are addressed predominately by rental income. The rental rates of all the units are at or below those for comparable housing in the community. The annual financial statements are subject to audit and are available for review.

Community partners contribute in various ways through donations directed to improve the quality of life for our residents.

The Campbell River community need of affordable housing for low-income seniors continues to grow. The cost for providing and maintaining this housing continues to rise. This dilemma presents financial and planning challenges to the Board of Directors.

This Society with its housing facility on Larwood Road is entirely a local venture – in purpose and service to our community. We invite your support and partnership to realize our vision.
